Choosing the Right Weed Grinder for You!

Weed Grinder

Buying and using the best weed grinder can be a bit overwhelming, there are so many to choose from! For some people, it’s all about the color and design. For others, price and size is important. In any case, understanding what factors to consider before you buy will help you find the perfect grinder for your needs.

Grinder Size

If you are purchasing a weed grinder because you don’t have one already then most likely you will be purchasing a smaller one. If you have recently purchased a new larger bong or pipe then the added weight of your new grinder will give it a better chance of getting knocked over which can cause damage to your contents. In most cases, over half of the grinder’s weight is in your hand! That may not sound like a lot but it is important to understand that the more you carry your grinder around, especially when it’s full of herbs and more than likely full of tobacco, the more susceptible it is to being knocked over and potentially damage to your gear. Not to mention the fact that a larger grinder will take up more space and make keeping it in a pocket difficult.

Material

Grinders can be made from a variety of materials, the most common being plastic, glass and chrome steel. If you are purchasing a new grinder for use with tobacco or marijuana, then stainless steel is probably your best bet as it holds up much better than any other material. Plastic grinders are generally safer for slamming as well due to their lighter weight but can sometimes be too brittle and break easily when dropped. Glass grinders are one of the most popular materials used both from a safety standpoint but also in appearance due to their elegant designs. Chrome steel grinders are often the choice of many individuals because they do not scratch easily, unlike glass, and will last much longer than plastic grinders.

Size of the Grinding Chamber

Always assume that the majority of your purchases will be larger than what can fit into a small grinder. The best thing to do is check to see how wide the chamber is before you purchase it so you don’t end up disappointed when you try to grind some bud and find out it won’t fit. If you are purchasing a grinder with a large chamber then most likely it will come with a scraping tool, which isn’t always the case with smaller grinders so always be sure to check.
